A day at Hakone Retreat, nestled in the Hakone Mountains, begins by connecting with surrounding nature.
The moments when morning dew traces the leaves, the fluttering of birds that heralds the change of seasons, the gentle warmth that lingers in the fireplace, the rich aroma of coffee that slowly awakens your five senses ,and the bliss of the moments all come together to create a special time just for you.

Dishes that take advantage of the rich local bounty, such as carefully selected meat, fish, seasonal vegetables, and freshly harvested eggs sourced mainly from the neighborhood, are prepared in a wood-fired oven and are simple yet dynamic, highlighting the power of the ingredients.
At Hyosekikaku, a historically valuable building on the property, everyone can enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine that colors the four seasons. Enjoy the thrill of kaiseki where you can enjoy the seasons with your eyes and its flavors on your tongue (reservation required).

After leaving Hakone Yumoto, we headed north along Hakone Mountain road for about 30 minutes.
On Mount Hakone, you will see many mountain streams and wild forests such as cypress, chestnut, and maple that grow so thick. Find the Hakone Retreat signpost and proceed. The 15,000 tsubo forest quietly, majestically, and kindly welcomes you. You can take deep breaths naturally. On your trip, indulge in the air, sounds, and smells that emanate from the forest.
